DEVOTIONAL: Romans 1:16
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.“ Romans 1:16NKJV

The Gospel is how the broken (all of us) are made new; Life after earthly death possible. We are not ashamed of this power, it is the power of God. When we truly understand the depth of what Jesus accomplished on the cross we want to tell everyone about it!

The Gospel: good news of what Jesus did on the cross! (My definition) saving of your soul.
•
Salvation: The act of saving; preservation from destruction, danger or great calamity. (Webster’s 1828... all definitions are Webster’s 1828 haha)

God sent His one and only Son Jesus into the world to save us from sin and death. He saved us not off what we can do but because He loves us. He not only saved us from eternal separation but separation here on earth. He chose us first.

He saved us from death. Yes internal death... lies... lies can kill us. They make us think they are true. (“This person must not like me.” “That person thinks I’m not worth their time.”) What we believe matters so much! I love how it says “the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes,” It is the power of God to save us from our own thoughts that are lies and this saving is for everyone who believes.

Brothers and sisters we have many thoughts everyday. Are they alined with the saving work of the cross?

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
Philippians 4:8 NIV

We don’t have time for mental gymnastics... and from my personal experience it’s not fun!

The very first part says, “whatever is true”. Is what you’re thinking, is what you’re believing truth? Or is it a lie? When you break down the feeling to what you’re believing (beliefs cause thoughts cause feelings cause actions) is it truth?

“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:9 NIV

When we receive TRUTH from the Lord, (The Lord into every thought and every moment)

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NIV

We will receive LIFE, SALVATION (look at definition).

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.”
John 1:1-2 NKJV

The Word (Bible) “was with God and the Word was God.” Okay so we must READ the word not out of a legalistic way but BECAUSE ITS LIFE! The Bible is Gods words.... so if we say we believe we probably should be reading? Yah feel? Life... the word of God.... yes come on!! Let’s go! I want life do you? I don’t want mental gymnastics I want FREEDOM, LIFE, PEACE! And that is From JESUS(: (hope you feel the passion and LOVE)
